His voice became incredibly well known and he cameoed in shows such as Doctor Who and Coronation Street in the late 60s. The couple had two children – Emma and Sophie – but Thompson sadly died in 1982 at the age of 53 following a heart attack. Law’s acting career spans over 60 years, with her final role coming in 2020 with American rom-com Then Came You, playing Arlene. In 2014, Law was awarded an OBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours for charitable services and for services to drama. Tributes from fans have already begun to flood in, with those online remembering her as a ‘enduringly well-loved’. Law’s granddaughter, Gaia Wise, shared a post on Instagram, simply writing ‘Rest well my Queen’ with a red heart emoji.
