A dog that had been abandoned by its owner as he fled from police helped lead officers to his hiding place. Footage shared by Cheshire Police on Monday (17 August) shows an officer speaking to the labrador, who had failed to keep up when his owner sped away from the force on his e-scooter. “Has he been a bad boy and left you?” the officer said to the distressed dog, who ultimately led the team to an address on Beaconsfield Road. Inside, they discovered Charles Foy, 41, who was hiding under insulation in his loft. The 41-year-old had been riding an e-scooter - a vehicle that is banned for use on public roads - with his two dogs beside him, when he failed to pull over for officers. Foy, of Beaconsfield Road, Runcorn, had already been convicted of failing to stop for police, driving whilst disqualified, using a vehicle without insurance, and failing to provide a drug test in March. He has been sentenced to three months’ imprisonment and banned from driving for four years and three months.
