(Willmar MN-) Willmar police say an SUV drove through a window and into a downtown building Friday morning. Captain Mike Anderson says it was reported in the 400 Block of Benson Avenue Southwest at 8:12 a.m., across the street from the Kandiyohi County Motor Vehicle Services building. When officers arrived they found a white Ford Explorer had driven through a large display window and was inside the building. The driver, a 23-year-old Willmar woman, was inside the vehicle and officers helped her get out. She was taken to CentraCare Rice Hospital for evaluation. She told officers she was trying to park the vehicle just before the crash, and she was cited for violation of an instructional permit and illegal U turn. The building and vehicle had substantial damage, and a light pole was also knocked down.The Willmar Police Department was assisted by Willmar Fire, CentraCare Ambulance and Willmar Municipal Utilities.
