South Side woman undergoes rare quadruple organ transplant at University of Chicago Medicine
The transplant of two new lungs, a kidney and a liver into a single patient over 36 hours “continues to be at the edge of what we can do in transplantation,” said surgeon Dr. Rolf Barth.
