Rubio to Cubans: Your government is ‘standing in the way of a better future’
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio released a video message in Spanish speaking directly to the people of Cuba as the US has put economic pressure on the Cuban government, leaving the island in increasingly dire conditions, including rolling blackouts. Rubio said the US is ready to help the Cuban people, but that the GAESA, a military-run conglomerate that controls much of Cuba’s economy, “is standing in the way of a better future.”
