Pakistan took full advantage of Indus Waters Treaty following India’s unequal concessions: PK Saxena
Former Indian Indus Waters Commissioner PK Saxena called the Indus Waters Treaty unequal, saying India made concessions while Pakistan exploited the 1960 pact to delay hydropower development in Jammu and Kashmir. The treaty, brokered by the World Bank, survived wars but was placed in abeyance by India in April 2025 after the Pahalgam terrorist attack, amid growing water and security concerns.
