Maharashtra advises farmers to delay sowing as monsoon rains fall short
Maharashtra is experiencing a significant rainfall deficit in early June. The state has received only 26 percent of its normal rainfall. This has led the government to advise farmers against rushing with sowing operations. Preparatory agricultural activities are ongoing. Improved rainfall is anticipated from June 18 onwards in some regions. A heatwave is also expected in Vidarbha.
