Lava fountain shoots from Hawaii’s Kilauea volcano during spectacular eruption
Watch as lava shoots out from Hawaii’s Kilauea volcano during a spectacular eruption. Footage captured by the United States Geological Survey (USGC) shows the molten rock gushing from the geyser on Tuesday (5 May). It began at 8:17 am HST and ended about 9 hours later at 5:22 pm HST. The USGC has labeled the latest eruption “episode 46 of lava fountaining” since the current activity began in December 2024. Kilauea, on Hawaii’s Big Island, is one of the world’s most active volcanoes.
