Karnataka: Govt clears 430 km of Bengaluru footpaths under pedestrian safety drive
Bengaluru authorities have cleared 430 kilometers of footpath encroachments since July. This safe footpath campaign aims to create a cleaner and more walkable city. Officials removed thousands of illegal extensions, steps, ramps, pillars, and temporary sheds. The government will also reissue vendor identity cards and designate vending zones. This initiative addresses pedestrian fatalities caused by congested and encroached footpaths.
