Earning more than your husband does not entitle you to maintenance: Karnataka HC
NEW DELHI: The Karnataka high court has ruled that a wife who earns more than her husband cannot claim maintenance simply because she is a woman. The court stressed that maintenance cannot be awarded on gender-based assumptions and that financial circumstances of both parties must be examined before passing such orders.
