Dog miraculously rescued from kayak adrift in North Sea
A dog was miraculously rescued from the North Sea after being found drifting on an inflatable kayak. On Sunday (7 June), a sightseeing trip was interrupted when tour group Serenity Farne Island Boat Tours received a call from the Coastguard alerting them to a dog lost at sea. The boat dropped passengers ashore and joined in the search for missing German Shepherd, Bruce. Captain Jimmy Reid made an estimate of where the kayak could be and despite hopes fading with “every passing minute”, he managed to locate Bruce about 2.2 nautical miles north of Bamburgh Beach. Footage shows the rescue play out, with Bruce later being reunited with his owners upon returning to shore.
