Colorful Goldfish Swim Uphill in Hyogo Pref. Park, Beautiful Snapdragons Viewable Backgrounded by Sea and Sky
Approximately 20,000 snapdragons plants are in full bloom at Awaji Hanasajiki, a prefectural park in Awaji, Hyogo Prefecture. Colorful flowers including shades of pink, yellow and white cover the hill, which spans about 1,000 square meters overlooking Osaka Bay. Snapdragons are annual plants belonging to the Plantaginaceae family characterized by their plump, goldfish-like appearance. They are expected to continue blooming until mid-June. “The vividly colored flowers make a beautiful contrast with the sky and sea,” said Nahomi Takeshita, 75, from Kobe, who visited with her family.
