CID to probe Baruipur encounter alongside judicial inquiry
West Bengal orders CID and judicial probes into the Baruipur police encounter. One accused, Prabhas Mondal, died during a police operation Tuesday night. Police claim Mondal attempted to escape and snatch a firearm. Forty additional arrests were made for lynching and related violence. The CID has now taken over the investigation into Mondal's death.
