A woman who says a driver harassed her while she was walking on a Cardiff street has shared how she got "karma" on him. Aneesa Bhaba told Wales Live that a man in a white van had beeped at her repeatedly and leaned out of his window to shout at her. She explained that she decided to use his number plate to check the tax status of the vehicle, and the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (website) said it was untaxed, so she reported it. The 25-year-old told the BBC that she initially believed the driver was beeping because of a traffic problem, but later realised he was targeting her and her younger sister. The fine for using an untaxed vehicle on a public road is £30 plus twice the outstanding vehicle tax. If this is not paid, the case may be pursued through the magistrates’ court. The penalty is either £1,000 or five times the amount of tax chargeable, whichever is greater.
