Zombie birds! Scientists turn deceased birds into high-tech drones

Researchers at New Mexico Tech are developing drones and robots using preserved bodies of dead birds. These "animatronic" birds aim to improve wildlife monitoring by blending in and minimizing disturbances. The team has created flapping-wing drones using pheasant and mallard parts, as well as a swimming duck robot. They've also developed stationary pigeons with cameras for surveillance purposes.
