Why SEBI is batting for lower retail quota in large IPOs

The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has proposed significant changes to the IPO structure for public floats over ₹5,000 crore. To address muted retail interest and improve price discovery, SEBI plans to reduce the retail investor quota from 35% to 25% and increase the Qualified Institutional Buyer (QIB) portion to 60%.
