Why mankind keeps returning to its old bloodthirsty ways and new battlefields

Humans didnt get to be at the top of the species ladder by reason or love. We got here through incessant bloodlust and an insatiable desire for battle and war. Evolution, you see, is red in the tooth and claw. Peter Turchin, a political scientist and cliodynamics theorist (history through scientific study), in his book Ultrasociety, says, “The evidence is overwhelming that daily life in the shadow of imminent violence was the rule rather than an exception for people in tribal societies. The main and the most terrifying threat came from outside their society. It came from strangers.”
