Whitewashing of Sambhal mosque underway

Whitewashing of the outer wall of the Shahi Jama Masjid in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh began following a directive from the Allahabad High Court. The ASI was instructed to complete the task within a week. This comes after riots erupted in November due to a survey of the mosque, resulting in four deaths and several injuries.
