What does the Jan Vishwas Bill do?

The Bill seeks to shift India’s regulatory framework from a punitive model to ‘trust-based governance’ by decriminalising minor procedural lapses and ensuring proportionality between the gravity of conduct and the State’s response. It also aims to promote ease of doing business and living, reduce burden on courts through civil and administrative alternatives, while raising concerns about administrative discretion, appellate safeguards, and implementation gaps.
