War on Drugs: Institutional backing, teamwork result in ₹18,000cr haul

India's increased drug seizures stem from a three-point strategy by the Centre. This includes bolstering institutional frameworks, inter-agency coordination, and public awareness. A dedicated task force examines sea route smuggling. Seizures rose 160% from 2014 to December 2023, compared to 2006-2013. A budget of ₹411.59 crore has been approved to enhance the Narcotics Control Bureau.
