Uttarakhand to mandate registration of live-in relationships under new Uniform Civil Code rules

Uttarakhand will make it compulsory to register all live-in relationships within 30 days of notifying Uniform Civil Code rules. The state government will inform parents of those below 21 in such relationships. The rules will also ban polygamy and simplify civil procedures like maintenance and child custody through online systems.
