US wants end to Israel-Hezbollah war 'as soon as possible'

The United States is pushing for an immediate end to the Israel-Hezbollah war and supports enforcing a UN resolution for Hezbollah's withdrawal from south Lebanon. US envoy Amos Hochstein met Lebanese officials to discuss the issue. Heavy border clashes and airstrikes have continued, and Lebanon is ready to reinforce its military if a ceasefire is agreed.
