US approves $175 million sale of MK-54 torpedoes to India for enhanced Navy capabilities

The United States has approved selling 53 MK-54 lightweight torpedoes to India for $175 million. These torpedoes are for the Indian Navy's multi-mission MH-60R Seahawk helicopters. This sale aims to improve India's anti-submarine capabilities and strengthen the strategic relationship between the two nations. India will induct all 24 Seahawks by next year.
