UPS to get NPS-like tax benefits

The finance ministry announced that the Unified Pension Scheme (UPS), set to launch for central government employees on April 1, 2025, will receive the same tax benefits as the National Pension System (NPS). This decision aims to boost the UPS by ensuring parity with the existing NPS structure, offering substantial tax relief and incentives to employees who choose the UPS.
