UP MLA Abbas Ansari loses seat after court conviction in hate speech case
Abbas Ansari, a legislator from the Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party, has been disqualified from the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly following his conviction in a hate speech case. The special MP-MLA court sentenced Ansari to two years in prison for threatening local authorities during a 2022 election rally.
