UP mandates display of outlet owner details, enforces strict food safety norms amid spitting incidents

Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath has mandated that food centres display the names and addresses of their operators, proprietors, and managers. Chefs and waiters must wear masks and gloves, and CCTV installation is compulsory. This follows incidents of food contamination in the state, prompting a call for stricter inspections and amendments to the Food Safety and Standards Act.
