UP court acquits 45 persons in 27-year-old rioting case
A kanpur court has acquitted 45 individuals in a 27-year-old rioting case due to lack of evidence. The violence in 1998 occurred after hundreds protested the assault of a mosque's Imam and power disruption. Despite the acquittal, four individuals received a three-year prison sentence under the Arms Act.
