Unemployment rate ticked down to 6.6% in January

The Canadian economy added 76,000 jobs in January and the jobless rate ticked down by 0.1 percentage points to 6.6 per cent, Statistics Canada said on Friday.Analysts polled by Reuters had forecast net additions of 25,000 jobs in January and the unemployment rate at 6.8 per cent.This was the second month in a row that the unemployment rate, or the number of jobless people as a percentage of the total labour force, declined.
