Ukraine's mortar shell production surge stymied by explosives shortage

Ukraine has significantly boosted its mortar shell production from zero to millions annually since Russia's invasion. However, a shortage of explosives globally limits further growth in its weapons industry. Despite this, Ukraine now produces artillery shells, including 155mm calibre, but still lags behind Russia's extensive military output.
