Trump’s State department firing begins: Over 1,300 jobs slashed in latest layoff wave

The Trump administration is going to fire over 1,300 employees at the US State Department in its latest round of federal job cuts and this will affect nearly 15 percent of its workforce. A senior official said 1,107 civil servants and 246 foreign service officers currently assigned to domestic posts will receive layoff notices.
