President Donald Trump proposed Wednesday to return 20% of savings from his administrations Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) initiatives to American citizens. This “DOGE dividend” could amount to about $5,000 per tax-paying household, according to James Fishback, chief executive of hedge fund Azoria and a former employee of Greenlight Capital. But this DOGE dividend might pinch the pockets of Americans and heat up the economy again.
