This move follows urging from Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Ahmad al-Sharaa, the new Syrian President, will meet Trump in Saudi Arabia. Al-Sharaa once led an insurgency and was imprisoned in Iraq.
