Trump picks former Democratic congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard as director of national intelligence

President-elect Donald Trump has selected Tulsi Gabbard, a former Democratic representative and current independent, as his director of national intelligence. Gabbard, who has become a vocal critic of the Biden administration, is expected to easily be confirmed by the Republican-controlled Senate. Trump praised Gabbard's commitment to freedom and her more than two decades of service to the country.
