Tripura: Tribals, mostly Buddhist Chakmas stage massive protests against attack on minorities in Bangladesh

Tribals, mainly Buddhist Chakmas, held large demonstrations in Agartala, Tripura, protesting attacks on minorities in Bangladesh. They submitted memoranda to the Bangladesh government demanding an end to the violence. The Chakma leaders urged Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to intervene and protect minorities in Bangladesh and called for downgrading diplomatic relations until safety is ensured.
