TMC seeks renaming of West Bengal as 'Bangla'

The Trinamool Congress has demanded that West Bengal be renamed 'Bangla' to reflect the region's history and culture. This follows a 2018 resolution from the West Bengal Assembly. The state's Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to approve the change. Other party members have raised various local and national issues in the Rajya Sabha.
