Three reasons Israel’s attack against Hamas in Doha was shocking

The Israeli operation in the capital of Qatar is not entirely surprising. But it is shocking: Israel openly claimed credit, the US and Israel had asked Qatar to host these leaders, and the strike makes a hostage deal less likely. Israel has made clear since the October 7 attack that it will target every Hamas leader whether inside Gaza or abroad and they have acted on that commitment.
