Originally from Ghouta, a suburb of Damascus bombed with chemical weapons in 2013, photographer Abdulmonam Eassa fled Syria seven years ago, leaving his family behind. When the fall of Bashar al-Assad was announced on December 8, 2024, he managed to return to his country and document the liberation of his people. He has provided 'Le Monde' with his testimony in pictures.
