Suresh Kalmadi: Former IAF pilot who got caught in 2010 Delhi Commonwealth Games turbulence

Former Union Minister and sports administrator Suresh Kalmadi passed away at 81 after a prolonged illness. His career spanned politics, public service, and sports administration, including his controversial tenure as chairman of the 2010 Commonwealth Games organising committee. Kalmadi, who also served in the Indian Air Force, received a clean chit in the Games-related case in 2025.
