Sub-classification of Scheduled Castes for quota: SC to consider in-chambers review of judgement

The Supreme Court will review its decision on whether states can make sub-classifications within Scheduled Castes for reservation purposes. A seven-judge bench, led by Chief Justice D Y Chandrachud, will examine the matter. The court previously ruled that states need quantifiable data to justify such sub-classifications.
