Struggling dog plucked from river by New York cop hanging from helicopter in daring rescue

A dog struggling to stay afloat was heroically plucked from a river by a cop as he hung off a helicopter. Footage from Onondaga County Sheriff's Office shows the daring officer reach into the Seneca River in Upstate New York from the skid of a chopper while it hovered inches from the water. The force said, following a 911 call from a passerby, the aircrew observed a Goldendoodle "struggling to stay afloat in the middle of the river” on Monday (23 March). The dog was transported to nearby ball field where Baldwinsville Fire Department officials were waiting with blankets.
