States/UTs to borrow Rs 2.86 lakh crore in Jul-Sep quarter: RBI

States and Union Territories are set to raise approximately Rs 2.86 lakh crore from markets in the July-September 2025 quarter, according to the RBI. This borrowing is part of the government's broader plan to borrow Rs 15.4 lakh crore in FY 2025-26, aiming to meet a fiscal deficit target of 4.4% of GDP and fund capital expenditure.
