Shocking CCTV shows thief targeting elderly patients in hospital ward

A suspected thief who targeted elderly patients in a hospital whilst they were sleeping or undergoing medical tests has been arrested. CCTV footage released by the Spanish Civil Guard on Friday (10 April) shows the 62-year-old suspect wandering through wards and entering rooms at Torrevieja hospital in Alicante on three occasions. The man, who partially concealed his identity with a baseball cap, then left the rooms with the stolen items - mainly electronic devices - hidden under his jacket. He also reportedly stole a bag of medical supplies belonging to one of the victims, who were all elderly foreign nationals. The 62-year-old was apprehended mid-theft after the hospital used security camera footage to arrest the subject.
