Severe cold throws life off kilter in north India; train schedules go haywire in fog-hit Delhi

A thick fog covered Delhi on Tuesday morning, reducing visibility to zero, and causing delays in train schedules. As of 6 am, 39 trains were running late. Delhi recorded a minimum temperature of 8.9 degrees Celsius. The air quality was in the poor category. The IMD predicted dense fog, with a maximum temperature around 19 degrees Celsius.
