SC upholds validity of 2004 UP Board of Madarsa Education Act, says it does not violate principle of secularism
The Supreme Court upheld the Uttar Pradesh Board of Madarsa Education Act. The court said the act does not violate the principle of secularism. The Allahabad High Court previously declared the act unconstitutional. The high court asked the state government to accommodate madrasa students in the formal schooling system. The Supreme Court stayed the high court verdict.
