SC takes suo motu cognisance of K'taka HC judge's comments

A five-judge Supreme Court bench has taken suo motu cognisance of controversial comments made by Karnataka High Court judge Vedavyasachar Srishananda. The judge allegedly made objectionable remarks towards a woman lawyer and referred to a Muslim-majority area in Bengaluru as 'Pakistan'. The senior-most judges, including CJI DY Chandrachud, addressed the issue during Friday's proceedings.
