SC disposed of 573 direct tax cases post-revision in monetary limit in appeal filing: Finance Ministry

The finance ministry announced that the Supreme Court has disposed of 573 direct tax cases following the revised monetary limits for filing appeals introduced in the Union Budget 2024-25. The new limits aim to reduce tax litigation and promote ease of doing business, with an estimated 4,341 cases to be withdrawn from various judicial forums.
