SC asks FRI to conduct tree census in Taj Trapezium Zone

The Supreme Court has instructed the Taj Trapezium Zone authority to appoint the Forest Research Institute for conducting a tree census within the 10,400 sq km area, encompassing regions in UP and Rajasthan. This move aims to gather data necessary for the effective implementation of the UP Protection of Trees Act, 1976, and to prevent unauthorized tree felling.
