Salal Dam gates opened to manage heavy water inflow into Jammu and Kashmir's Chenab river

Authorities opened the Salal hydroelectric power project dam gates to manage the increased water flow into the Chenab River due to continuous rains in Jammu and Kashmir's Reasi district. An alert has been issued by the district administration, advising residents to stay away from the riverbanks as the water level rises downstream of the dam.
