Mumbai Police have disclosed that the suspect in the Saif Ali Khan assault case is a Bangladeshi national who entered India illegally and adopted a new identity as Vijay Das. The accused, Md Shariful Islam Shehzad, aged 30, had been living in Mumbai and working for a housekeeping agency.
