Russian Navy deputy head killed by Ukraine, says Moscow

Major General Mikhail Gudkov, a high-ranking Russian Navy official and former marine brigade commander, was killed in action in Russia's Kursk region, the Defence Ministry announced. Gudkov, honored by Putin in February, reportedly died during combat work. Unconfirmed reports suggest a Ukrainian missile strike on a command post caused his death.
